JOHNSTONE Sir Raymond (Edinburgh) Sir Raymond Johnstone CBE, died peacefully, on Monday, August 15, 2022, in Edinburgh. Devoted father figure and friend to the family of his beloved late wife Sara Johnstone. The funeral will take place at St John’s Episcopal Church, Lothian Road, Edinburgh at 1 pm, on Monday, September 5. All welcome, no flowers please.

He was the son of Capt Henry James JOHNSTONE RN (1895-1947), scion of the Johnstone Baronets (NS 1700) being descended from the 5th son of the 3rd Baronet, and (m 1923) Alison McINTYRE (d 1984).  He m (as her 3rd h) Susan Sara HENRIQUES nee GORE  (1935-2021) - see here for Richard's note of her death - JOHNSTONE, Lady (Susan Sara nee GORE) 1935-2021 (google.com).  She was descended from a brother of Sir Paul Gore, 1st Baronet (I) cr 1621/22 of Magherabegg, co Donegal

Sir Raymond was Managing Director of Murray Johnstone, investment managemnt, Chairman of the Forestry Commission, Chairman of Historic Buildings Council for Scotland, Director of the Nuclear Trust, CBE (Civil) 1988 and knighted 1993
