From the Daily Telegraph 12 November 2021 - CLARK-MAXWELL,  William. Peacefully on 4th November 2021 at home. Funeral in St John's, Dumfries on 19th November at 11 O' Clock and afterwards at Speddoch Hall. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory to Marie Curie Nurses if desired.

I take this to be (John) William b 23 Sept 1933 son of John Noel CLARK-MAXWELL TD of Speddoch, Dumfriesshire (1903-1987),  of the gentry family Clark-Maxwell of Carruchan and Mackworth (BLG 1972), and (m 1932) Anne Joan nee FEARNLEY-WHITTINGSTALL (1906-1985) of the gentry family Fearnley-Whittingstall f/o Watford and Hawkswick (BLG 1969).  He m 1973 Juliet Nina dau of Capt Charles Michael STRACHAN (1906-1991) and (m 1941 as his 2nd w) Nancy Myra (1911-2009) dau of George BROOKE (son of Sir George Frederick Brooke, 1st Baronet) and Nina HILL (of the Marquesses of Downshire).  They had issue James Michael Gilchrist b 1975 and Alice Louise b 1979
