From the Times of 24 Jan 2026: OHLSON Sir Peter Michael Bt passed away peacefully on 17th January 2026, aged 86, at the Princess Alice Hospice. Survived by his wife, Sarah, his beloved daughters Gemma and Emily and his adored grandchildren James, Charlie, Jemima, Jack and Millie. Funeral to be held on 11th February. Please ask a family member for details.

He was yr s of Sir Eric Olof OHLSON 2 Bt 1911-83 and Marjorie Joan 1912-2008 d of Charles Henry ROOSMALE-COCQ 1878-1932 (tea broker) of Dorking, Surrey by his 1901 m (Halifax, Nova Scotia) to Maud Marie MATHEWS 1877-1970. He m 1968 Sarah L b 1946 reg Q2 Herts d of Maj-Gen Thomas BRODIE CB CBE DSO 1903-93 and Jane Margaret CHAPMAN-WALKER 1909-92, and had two daus as above.

In Memoriam: Peter Michael Ohlson, 1939 – 2026

The Royal Tennis Court is deeply saddened to share the news that Peter Ohlson passed away recently.

As a long term member and past Chairman of RTC, many members will remember Peter for his enthusiasm for the game and affection for RTC. Peter had a mischievous sense of humour and was a proponent of the Pique serve - he always kept his doubles partners on their toes.

The Royal Tennis Court extends its heartfelt condolences to Peter's daughters, Gemma and Emily, and family and friends during this difficult time.

Funeral
Wednesday 11th February 2026. 11.30am St Anne’s Church, Kew Green, TW9 3AA. (Parking around the Green or in the Kew Gardens official car park sat nav: TW9 3AF)

Please join family and friends afterwards at The Petersham Hotel, Nightingale Lane, Richmond, TW10 6UZ. Please car share where possible to the Petersham. Parking: Petersham Hotel or Rose of York Pub below the hotel (register car reg in pub) or at the top of Richmond Hill there is limited parking and x2 hotels you could try and park in.
