NELSON, Sir Jamie Charles Vernon Hope, 4th Baronet (1949-??)

Sir Dominic William Michael Nelson is now entered on the Official Roll of the Baronetage as the 5th Baronet Nelson of Acton Park.  Sir Jamie Nelson, the 4th baronet, though he was never entered on the Roll, has therefore died. I have not been able to find any death notice/obit at the moment. His address in DPB2019 was in Tintinhull,  Yeovil, Somerset

Sir Jamie Charles Vernon Hope Nelson was the son of Maj Sir William Vernon Hope Nelson OBE, 3rd Baronet (1914-1991) and (m 1945) Hon Elizabeth-Ann CARY (1927-2014) d of the 14th Viscount of Falkland. He m 1983 Maralynn Pyatt HEDGE (she may be using the surname NELSON-HEDGE) and they had a son Liam Chester b 1982 before their marriage.

Sir Jamie has been succeeded by his brother Sir Michael William Michael Nelson, 5th Baronet b 1957 m 1981 Sarah JOLLIFFE, scion of the Barons Hylton, and has issue:-

1. Barnaby John b 1982 heir apparent

2. Thomas Dudley b 1984 d 2015

3. George Marcus b 1987 (m and has a son)

1. Henrietta Penelope b 1994

Died in the second quarter of 2023 in Somerset as per the GRO Index.

Thanks - the GRO index is available on a non-GRO website? Ancestry? The GRO website index still only goes up to 2021

Online it only goes to 2021. You can view the records in person up to a few months ago. Hopefully 2022/23 will be added online soon anyway. That could happen around September but they've not formally confirmed anything yet.

The Registrar of the Baronetage has kindly informed me that Sir Jamie died on 2 June 2023 at Thorney Moor Farm, Thorney Langport, Somerset, described as a retired tree surgeon, the informant on the death certificate being his sister Deirdre Macguire
