In the Burke's editions I have, and in Debrett's 2011, his children are listed as: Christopher Rollo, Alasdair Rollo, Elizabeth Alice, and Sophie Katharine Rose. The announcement calls them: Emma, Lala, Edward, Christopher, Alasdair, and Sophie.

Can anyone explain the discrepancy?

The late Mr Clifford's children would appear to be as shown in Burke's and Debrett's. His daughter Elizabeth Alice (born 4 II 1981) would appear to be known by the nickname of "Lala", and it also seems that she is now Mrs LANGTRY WHITE, having married Rupert LANGTRY WHITE (born 6 XI 1981) some time ago.

 

Emma and Edward would appear to be Mr Clifford's stepchildren, the issue of his second wife, née Caroline Peta (Marshall-)ROBERTS by her first husband (married 1973), Richard F VERSEN. Emma Lucy VERSEN was born in 1980 and Edward Frederick VERSEN was born in 1982.

 

Richard F VERSEN was married secondly, in 1989, to Lady Cleone Lucinda CRICHTON (born 27 VIII 1959), the eldest daughter of the 6th Earl Erne, by whom he has another son, Frederick James VERSEN (born 1992).
