From the Telegraph and Times of 6 March 2017: MOSLEY  Nicholas, 3rd Baron Ravensdale MC FRSL, writer, died peacefully at home on Tuesday 28th February 2017, aged 93. Beloved husband of Verity, father of Shaun (deceased), Ivo, Robert, Clare and Marius and stepfather to Jonathan. Grandfather of nineteen and great-grandfather of ten. Funeral at St Luke’s Church, Hillmarton Road, West Holloway, London N7 9JE on Thursday 16th March 2017 at 1pm followed by a burial at Highgate Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to St Luke’s, West Holloway.

He was s of Sir Oswald Ernald MOSLEY 6th Bt (1896-1980) and his 1st w Lady Cynthia Blanche CURZON (1898-1933) d of 1st & last Marquess CURZON of Kedleston (1859-1925) and Mary Victoria LEITER (1870-1906). He m 1st 1947 (div 1974) Rosemary Laura (1928-91) d of Air Marshal Sir John Maitland SALMOND GCB CMG CVO DSO (1881-1968) and his 2nd w Hon Monica Margaret GRENFELL (1893-1973, d of 1st & last Baron DESBOROUGH and his wife a scion of the WESTMORLAND and COWPER earls, WELLNGTON dukes, and LUCAS OF CRUDWELL barons, etc), and had 3 sons and a dau. He m 2nd 1974 Verity Elizabeth (b 1941, reg Q2 Worcestershire, formerly Mrs John Bailey) d of Neville John Burrows (Jack) RAYMOND (1902-92) and Betty Unice FREEMAN (1909-97), and had a further son. His eldest grandson succeeds him:

Daniel Nicholas MOSLEY (b 1982, s of Hon Shaun Nicholas MOSLEY (1949-2009) and Teresa Frances (b 1956 reg Q2 Staffordshire) d of Daniel CLIFFORD (1913-91) and Margaret ?C(hristine) KEANE ?(1913-83)). Succ his gf 2017 as 4th Baron RAVENSDALE but has yet to establish his claim and appear on the Roll of the Peerage. Unmarried.

The 8th Baronet (and 4th Baron) is now entered on the Official Roll of the Baronetage

I noticed from the latest Kershaw list of the Baronetage that the present (4th) Lord Ravensdale is married (presumably prior to 2012) and the heir is his son Hon Alexander L Mosley b 2012.  This is not picked up by the latest Debrett's - does anyone have info on the marriage?

On another forum, a member in 2013 posted that Daniel married a woman named Rachael and had a son Alexander, "likely in 2012", and that that information was based on a Facebook post.

The Debrett's database shows Lord Ravensdale as single, with his brother Matthew as hp.

Is there any concrete proof of his marriage and the heir being his son Alexander?

The Kershaw list is provided by somebody who works for or closely with the Standing Council of the Baronetage.  Whilst they have a suitable disclaimer that inclusion on the list is not formal recognition (presumably as all baronets must prove their claim to be on the Roll), I would regard inclusion on the Kershaw list as definitive in this case. I believe Mr Kershaw's writings appeared in the editorial section of a previous print edition of Debrett's.

This is not the only case where Debrett's database differs from Kershaw - it's difficult for us to provide evidence to back up every discrepancy with the Kershaw list, especially if some information is provided directly to the SCB and not publicised in newspaper notices etc. - I would suggest Debrett's do a line by line check and contact the SCB

From the electoral roll, there is a Daniel Nicholas Mosley who lives in Derbyshire with Rachael Mosley. He is also a registered company director, and the company is "Peers for the Planet Ltd", so it's safe to assume it's the same person, although, shock horror, Companies House lists him as "MOSLEY, Daniel Nicholas, Lord"

From Facebook, it appear Lord and Lady Ravensdale have three children born before 2016, all sons, one indeed called Alexander and the younger two twins.

The Lucan addition has been made, but no change on Ravensdale so far.

DPB online now records the 4th Lord Ravensdale's 2010 marriage to Rachael CARTER and the birth of their three sons, Hon ALEXANDER LUCAS b 2012 and twins Hon Liam James and Hon Oliver Ryan b 2015.

Debrett's has not however picked up the fact that his brothers and sisters are now Hons - see  Brothers and sisters of 4th Baron RAVENSDALE raised to the rank of baron's children (google.com)
