Brooke has already pointed out the Duke of Gloucester's marriage to Birgitte van Deurs  of Denmark.  Here are some more revealed by a search of the Debrett's database.  A lot more could probably be found from the Burke's database (which also requires a subscription) as they of course have more historical information and female collateral lines which have omitted from Debrett's. This is probably enough to go on with though.  I haven't included the families of life peers unless they are related to the hereditary peerage and baronetage

I haven't done a deep dive, but one other example comes to mind. Lady Rosanagh Crichton married Baron Michael Raben-Levetzau, and they settled in the UK. Their children, who are Danish barons as well as grandchildren of a British Earl, seem to live in the UK.

And for one major family with Scandinavian origins, there is the Hambro family.

From Sweden, there are the von Friesendorff baronets, who descend from Sir Johan Fredrik von Friesendorff (1617-1669), a Swedish diplomat.

Also, Alexander Cunynghame (b. 1985), whose mother, Marjatta Markus, is from Finland, is 2nd in the line of succession (behind his father) to the Cunynghame of Milncraig baronetcy.

Thank you very much for this impressive list of Danish people related to the British peerage and baronetage.

I know some of them, and have them in my database, but absolutely not all of these connections. A handful of them I had in my database but not connected to their present or past British spouse.

Your list contains some much that you will keep me busy researching for a while. Especially the ones (around half of them) which I do not know of.

Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland are small countries. The UK has a population of around 70 million people, while the Nordic countries all together has a population of around 29 million people.

Historically, there has been a lot of migration between these five countries and many cross-country marriages. Except if you are what some people call a pure Danish “pork and potato” family, you, as a Dane likely, are a mix-up of some of these countries as well as Germany (the various states). Both my late parents were.

Earlier, there was this idea that well-off or well-connected families sent their sons to Germany, France and the UK, to learn a particular sector of business, while their daughters were sent to the same countries – either to learn to be a “lady” of the house or to learn how to manage a household or to simple to learn how to be a good servant. Some of these never returned, but continued their lives in these countries – often marrying.

To get the bigger picture, I have a request for you:

Could I ask you kindly to make similar lists for Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, if it of course do not take too much time for you? (Not knowing how you pull the data.) I promise you, that I will read every since letter in it.

There also Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Icelandic people married into the British families, and often these Scandinavian/ Nordic people are connected to other people (families) - by ancestry - in the other Scandinavian / Nordic countries.

My mistake it seems.  I thought wrongly it was Danish, but I m mistaken.

Just because the other Ladies of London stars don't have official titles like their fellow cast members doesn't mean they don't have royal connections of their own. Annabelle Neilson was also born into an aristocratic family with her mother having the noble title of marquesa. Caroline Stanbury also famously dated Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, many years ago after his divorce from wife Sarah Ferguson. We saw Marissa Hermer freak out over the birth of the Royal Baby in Season 1 of Ladies of London. And now that there's a viscountess and baroness on the show, Juliet has said that she's hoping the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton will be her next "BFF." Aren't we all?

Thanks for this amazing list, where I reorganize many of the surnames.

For some reason, many Scottish clan members went to Sweden, and some of these became a part of Swedish titled and untitled nobility, and therefore you still today have many - and some large - Swedish noble families med Scottish clan names.

While we are at it, do you have anyone from Norway, Finland and Iceland?

There is also a more remote connection (first cousin to a great-grandparent, King George V) through King Gustav Adolf's first wife, Margaret of Connaught, granddaughter of Queen Victoria, who tragically died from sepsis.in 1920.

Queen Louise, the second wife, was a sister to Mountbatten, so that connection comes through the King's father.
