I don't know what I did but now the vertical scroll bar is missing.

Opera 11.62, win XP

I can't find any reference to it at Opera website.

Any ideas?

Either you've found "Full screen mode" - key F11 - or,
Tools: Preferences: Advanced: Browsing: Show scroll bars.

I seem to remember that key F7 used to hide scroll bars, too,
or maybe Control+F7 or something?

So, Opera 11.62, huh?

It looks as though those of us who couldn't find the tab close button
(when it isn't on every tab) - or couldn't see it - are still out of
luck?

You should upgrade to Opera 11.61 or 11.62 unless you strongly don't
want to - despite that little problem some of us are having with it,
described here (if I get this right),
http://groups.google.com/group/opera.general/browse_thread/thread/6943a302db76e555#

Each new version provides improvements to the security of your
personal information while using Opera - or tries to; consequently,
villains become aware, if they weren't aware before, of the previous
version's defects in this area.

(It's possible that there aren't many villains trying to exploit flaws
in Opera's security, but it's prudent to assume that there are some.
If I was running Microsoft I'd be sponsoring them, although they'd be
called "security researchers" in our payroll.

Hrmm. :-)

At the Opera blog link I posted above, there's an "alpha" or "beta" or
"release candidate" edition of 11.62, meaning "not exactly ready yet",
but 11.61 from Opera's web site is the better choice for most users,
until it's replaced there with an 11.62 version. There's also an
Opera 12 which is /d[finitely/ not ready yet.

Oh, I've misunderstood - there's another one, they are piling more
fixes into it. I don't recognise the close buttton issue, though.
And it's still a prototype.

Thank you! I had this problem in Google Chrome and one click... F7 solved it.
