I saved my animation as a scene, but when I reloaded the scene, I got all these red frames, and nearly my entire animation is gone.

What happened?

Something I also learnt the hard way about Opentoonz is that saving the scene doesn't save everything.

If you look in your "levels" tab or your "file" tab you'll see an option called "Save Level"......you have to make sure you keep saving the levels as well as your scene mate.

Sorry about that, hope you didn't lose too much.

Yes, even after you make a new level and name it, you still have to choose File > Save level after you make changes. I believe that this has to be done for each level anytime you want to save? Or does it update the directory automatically once it is finally saved? There should be a save all levels option?

I'm not sure whether it'll actually work in the way you're thinking, but in the preferences, in the general tab, there is an option to "Backup animation levels when saving".

the 'backup animation levels when saving' just makes a second file titled "level name_backup" for cases where the original file gets corrupted. It saves the backup file every time you save the level so it should be an exact copy. As far as i've found so far there isn't a 'autosave' or 'recover last session' option anywhere.

This has been answered in another Topic see here-->https://groups.google.com/d/msg/opentoonz_en/6bolStVpBGQ/PGZ6C_0mEAAJ
This forum is getting a lot of repeats. I wonder why people don't use the search function before they post?
