Hi,

I've got the question to the Linux users. Actually the whole question is shown on the picture. Missing the section containing the X-close button.
It's Debian-64 with Oracle Java-11.
Does anybody know how to fix it?

Problem solved:
On Debian, no matter is it Oracle, JDK or Coretto - each one draws the grphics a bit other but the issue above is remaining.
The only solution is installing Gnome.
Adding Arial fonts to the Linux also makes the general looking a bit better.
Additionally Gnome Tweaks Tool allows to easy modify default system fonts settings (size and fonts type) and let to get displaying closely same like on Windows.

PS. I know thet Openpnp 2.0 has theming added and actually is independent on the system defaults.

Hi, Marek!

I am on Arch Linux and I do not have Gnome installed and OpenPnP2 is working fine.
Can you check if there is only a dependency of gnome missing to make OpenPnP become usable?

Hi Clemens,

Definitely Debian-64 with LXDE (lightdm-xsession) desktop environment was drawing some of the windows' details wrong, as you can see on my picture posted priorly,  no matter which Java machine was used. Except of it the rest was working properly and with little inconveniences (like Windows closing or esthetic pain) an Openpnp was usable.
The drawing became working normally and the x-button appeared since I've changed DE to Gnome. Maybe just Gnome installing has brought some missing libs to the Debian... However, when I've started Openpnp from the console not any errors or warnings were printed.

And when I switch DE to LXDE an issue comes back.

I can't tell anything wise about Openpnp2 because I don't use it for everyday. But I've got it installed so I can check later the behaviors with both DE if you want.

I'm not sure if I've understood your question well but maybe I answered accidentally :-)

Hi, Marek!

I was just wondering if you really need to install the whole gnome thing to get the display issues fixed or if it's sufficient to install just some sub-dependency of gnome.

I am only speaking for Arch Linux. Here, the package/group "gnome" consists of 65 other packages:
https://archlinux.org/groups/x86_64/gnome/

Which therefore pull in another bunch of dependencies.
I am asking which component is causiung your issues and which component installation make them disappear?

xdamage maybe?

Clemens

Hi Clemens,

I've no idea which component was causing an issue. Nothing wrong was visible in the Linux console when I've started Openpnp from the command line nor when the pipeline Edit window was opened. I don't know how I could to check it on some other way.

After when I've added gnome DE - issue has gone. But now, if I switch DE from Gnome to LXDE - it comes back (while everything what gnome install has added to the system still remains there).
I'll check later today how it is in Openpnp2 case.
