I just installed PHD2 v2.6.4 on a laptop running Win XP Pro SP3. v264 was installed over a running copy of v263. Upon start-up, I get the message
This application failed to start because winusb.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I reinstalled v264 in a separate directory, and reinstalled v263 in its original directory.
v263 works, v264 still doesn't load.
Do I need to get a copy of WINUSB.DDL somewhere? How do I proceed to get v264 running?
Thanks

Hi David,
Sorry you ran into that problem. It's getting increasingly difficult for us to support PHD2 on Windows XP since Microsoft no longer supports it (mainstream support ended in 2009, and extended support ended in 2014.)
Please give this Microsoft support link a try WinUSB for Windows XP and let us know how it goes.
Andy

David,
BTW, I now recall that this issue was reported recently by somebody else, and there is a fix available. See this discussion thread: PHD2 Fails to Run
