Those beelines Precise, individualized foraging flights in honeybees revealed by multicopter drone-based tracking: Current Biology are remarkable. Wonder when the saying beeline was invented.

 

When giving students the dgps and telling them to find a point their direction is very much not the straight line shown for the bees even though straight line is possible just by following the arrow on screen perhaps should have shown their very squiggly lines in:
