Hello Volunteers!
It’s been a pleasure meeting individuals and families who care about our parks and natural areas, and I hope to see you all next Saturday at Swan Lake to get involved in both an area clean-up and thistle dig. - Becky
May 1st SWAN LAKE SPRING CLEAN UP
Lemmon Valley, NV – The Swan Lake Nature Study Area is preparing for the annual spring clean up and weed pull Saturday May 1st in Lemmon Valley. This event cleans up winter debris and it’s the perfect time to destroy thistle rosettes devastating wildlife habitat.
Volunteers gather in the Lemmon Valley McDonalds parking lot off Hwy 395 at 8:30 a.m. then separate into groups to clean up trash or dig weed at designates sites around Swan Lake until noon.
Volunteers are advised to bring water, gloves, dress in layers, and wear a hat or sunscreen. Hip waders or boots are useful for trash removal in wet areas. Be forewarned that this is dirty work.
The birds, wildlife, your neighbors and the Swan Lake team truly appreciate the time and energy dedicated to keeping our natural areas healthy! Please call with any questions 851-5180.
