Hello ns-3 community,
My name is Asmi Mohan, and I am a BCA (Hons) student with a strong interest in computer networks, systems, and open-source development. I am writing to introduce myself as a prospective contributor and GSoC 2026 aspirant.
I have previous experience contributing to open source through programs like GirlScript Summer of Code (GSSoC), where I worked on improving features, user experience, and code quality in collaborative projects. Through these experiences, I have learned how to understand large codebases, follow community guidelines, and contribute effectively through discussions, issues, and pull requests.
I am currently strengthening my foundations in networking concepts such as protocols, routing, and network simulation, and I am particularly interested in exploring ns-3 to gain hands-on experience in network research and simulation-based experimentation. I plan to start by setting up ns-3, going through the documentation, and picking up beginner-friendly issues to contribute meaningfully to the project.
I am excited to learn from this community and would appreciate any guidance on good first issues, documentation improvements, or areas where new contributors can start contributing.
Looking forward to learning and collaborating with you all.
Best regards,
Asmi Mohan
