Hi everyone,

I’m Krisha, a C++ student interested in contributing to ns-3 as a prospective Google Summer of Code participant.

I have experience with C++, Python, and basic computer networking concepts, and I’ve started reading the ns-3 documentation and exploring the codebase. I’m particularly interested in network simulation and protocol modeling.

I would really appreciate guidance on beginner-friendly areas, good first issues, or recommended modules to start contributing and understand the ns-3 development workflow.

Thank you for your time and support.

Best regards,
Krisha

Krisha,

The official "final" version will be posted later on, but you can see a preview at:

https://www.nsnam.org/wiki/GSOC2026Projects

Check the topics there, their difficulty level and if they fit your skill level and interest.

As for other changes that you can start working to get familiar with ns-3 contribution:

https://www.nsnam.org/docs/contributing/html/index.html

Regards,
Al
