Votrient and other drugs

Hi Everyone,

 

I hope you are all well.

 

My wife, Lauren, continues her battle.  She recently completed a trial: http://clinicaltrials.gov/show/NCT01514188 through Dr. Chawla.  This is to treat mets in her lungs.  Initially there was some shrinkage, but at the end there was some small growth.  The good news is it slowed things down considerably over the trial. 

 

She is now scheduled to start Gemzar once per month and take a daily Votrient pill.  Does anyone have any feedback on Votrient?

 

All the mets to her bones from last year appear to have been successfully treated with radiation and Cyber Knife, but the tumors in the lungs are not going away.

I had VAT surgery in June to remove the two spots in my lungs. I don't know anything about Votrient - keep us posted. Best of luck to her.

Just wish your wife success with the treatment and tell her to love the "dragon", as she meditates, to strengthen her body and spirit.

Hi Tim and Lauren,

    Glad to hear of Lauren's partial success with Cyberknife and Votrient.  I do not have any feedback on Votrient, but am curious about it because I shall probably begin taking it soon after my surgery next week.  I did have a lung wedge resection last December, and Cyberknife on upper right lung late April. But, now I have another tumor that popped up in my lower left pelvis so I have to have a surgery next Tuesday to remove it, probably to be followed up with Votrient.

    Hoping for Lauren's continued success fighting the dragon!
