suggests the problem might have to do with a firewall or something
similar...
That said, I'd suggest a couple of things - first, check to see if
your account has been created - go ahead and try to sign in and see if
it finds you. Also, when you fill out the new account form, consider
the possibility that the account name you've chosen is in use, and try
something different. Also make sure your passwords are matching. These
are all pretty basic I know, but generally account creation is pretty
straightforward so I don't have too many other ideas.

Let them know the account name you are trying to create and what
problems you've been having and I suspect they will know what is
happening.
