Cloud sync - branch

I have two Window user profiles on my laptop - work and home.

I want to sync all my MLO to cloud for my home Windows user profile. This is also used on mobile devices.

I want to sync only my work branch for my work Windows user profile. Then my work branch profile does not see other other 'noise'.

Is it possible to sync to Cloud a full MLO file as well as a branch? or is there a smarter way of doing this without Zooming?

Hello,

It is not possible to sync selected branches to the Cloud, unfortunately. In your case 2 chains of data can be created and managed separately:

1) .ml file "Work" on laptop < - > "Work" Cloud file < - > "Work" profile on mobile device

2) .ml file "Home" on laptop < - > "Home" Cloud file < - > "Home" profile on mobile device

But the cons are that you need to switch between files.

another way is to use "WORKSPACE"

01. create 2 top folders titled "WORK" & "PERSONAL"

02. move all WORK related task to WORK folder & PERSONAL related tasks to PERSONAL

03. create 2 WORKSPACES, rename them "WORK" & "PERSONAL"

04. in both the workspaces, set the view to "view all task"
05. On "WORK" workspace, select the WORK folder and ZOOM IN. Then locked the workspace.

06. do the same with the other "PERSONAL" workspace. Done~!

07. set the same workspace on your mobile MLO. 

now, you can see each sections separately without the other 'noise' by switching workspace.

plus point, if u happen to modify any views or contexts or anything else, you can use all of them without tnkering with 2 profiles. because everything is in 1 profile.:-)

P.S i am not sure if we can export/import workspaces, since i myself don't use workspace. you can check it out yourself.

Hi,

A workaround could be set up 2 profiles such as "Work" and "Main", so you could make Work as a subset of Main by branch sync at home.

example:

.ml file "Work" at home PC < - > "Work" Cloud file < - > "Work" profile on work PC and mobile device

.ml file "Main" at home PC < - > "Main" Cloud file < - > "Main" profile on mobile device

.ml file "Work" at home PC < - > .ml file "Main" at home PC [branch sync between profiles]

However, branch sync only take place at home.
