Copy tool does not work while editing the caption of a task on the task list.

I noticed what I just reported on the subject of this post.
Has somebody of you noticed same as me? My smartphone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Just to better explain the issue:

the Copy and Copy All tools are available during two different editing modes of a task: on the task list and on the properties editing screen of the task.

The mode on which the tools do not work is the editing you can get by a quick double tap on the text name of the task while listed on a task list.

Hi Roberto. I am *not* seeing what you  saw.

I doubleclicked a task and the blinking cursor appeared at the end of the caption. Then, i long-pressed one of the words in the caption and the word was jighlighted with a new header with the standard copy tools: select all, cut, copy and paste. See attached screenshot.

Yes, that'all right and I too got it. I did'n explain too well...
The tool appear but they do not get any copy function. When I try to paste text copied by using them, I get no text to paste. Sorry for my poor explanation.

Tank you Lisa. I checked again the tools and for me they do not work. As soon as I press one of these tools, the editing mode immediately exits. When I try to paste the text, no text is pasted (actually the text of the last Android copt operation is passed).

Tried copy/paste. Looks like I am getting same issue. Once I hit copy icon, tools are gone and when I tried to paste the copied text nothing gets pasted.

It is interesting. I am on kitkat 4.4.2 I tried copy/paste on a different field. long press existing task >tapped 3 dots> copy text in Title field>pasted it in inbox as for a  new task. It worked. 

Now when I try to copy the caption of a task it works. It worked outside of inbox (in a different view) too replicating screenshot posted by Dwight A except for the copy handles. I guess Sir Dwight is running Lollipop.

I thought that i understood this well enough to document it in Jira for the developers but now i am confysed again.

I get the screen with the copy tools which vanish when i try to use one of the tools. After the tools vanish,  the text i tried to copy is not available in the copy buffer.

In this most recent post, zoho (may i call you zoho?) Is apparently saying that the copy does work on kitkat therefore showing that the problem does not happen on that Android version, do i have that correctly? In a previous post Zoho confirmed the bug. Was that under some other Android version?

Apparently still has the problem (same as R Penzo)

Here is what I just did. 1) Cleared the clipboard. 2)double tapped task to activate cursor on a task caption 3)long pressed and selected text within copy handles 4)tapped copy button 5)hit the plus sign for new task 6)long pressed to invoke paste 

button/action. Paste did not show up. Nothing to paste. 

Kitkat 4.4.2 . MLO  v2, 2.0.16

Anyhow, I verified that after the cut&paste toolbar appears over the in-place caption editor, any tapping of the tool icons will cause the toolbar to disappear without any of the toolbar functionality being processed. Specifically:
1. went to Evernore and copied this string: "prior text"
2. Went to MLO and created a new task with this caption: "new text"
3. without exiting the inplace editor, longtapped the word "new". It became selected/highlighted and the cut&paste toolbar appeared.
4. tapped the copy icon in the toolbar. toolbar vanished. Back to evernote and pasted: result was "prior text" - conclusion., nothing was copied
5. back to MLO. doubletapped the text to open inplace editor. Longtapped the word "new" to select & highlight it and open the cut&paste toolbar.
6. tapped the cut icon in the toolbar. toolbar vanished. Back to evernote and pasted: result was "prior text" - conclusion., nothing was copied. back to MLO, the word "new is still there. conclusion, nothing was cut.
7. doubletapped the text to open inplace editor. Longtapped the word "new" to select & highlight it and open the cut&paste toolbar.
8. tapped the paste icon. toolbar vanished but nothing was pasted.
9. doubletapped the text to open inplace editor. Longtapped the word "new" to select & highlight it and open the cut&paste toolbar.
10. tapped the select-all icon. Nothing was selected.

Repeated all of these tasks on the caption in the edit-task page. "copy" copied, "cut" cut, "paste" pasted and "select all" selected all.
conclusion: the cut&paste toolbar works, but when it is invoked by selecting text in the in-place editor it is limited to a single function which is vanishing when tapped.

After I saw the initial posts tried it on my phone and replicated the issue hence my first post in the thread. It worked so copy/paste worked in that instance.. Then I went back to the task caption and tried copy/paste operation and it worked.  I tried multiple times with different task captions.

But I still think there is some problem with copy/paste based on what I just experienced. MLO Clipboard does not seem to be clearing at the moment. I tried few different copy/paste of task captions but I am getting one of the first caption I copied every time I try to copy/ paste. I even restarted the phone hoping it will clear the clipboard but it still has that one old caption/text string in the memory. Any where in MLO I try to paste still the same caption/text string is getting pasted. 

This seem to be an MLO issue in this instance from what I can see because I opened a text editor (jota) typed some text, copy/pasted within Jota and it is working (no text from MLO is showing up). It is getting complicated to test..

I am on V2 version 2.016

Remember to all of you: a workaround is to use the tools NOT from in-place editor (green text) but from the editing screen of the properties of the task. Here the tools work well.

Unfortunately just only today I noticed that the bug is once more present. I am using the last release 2.4.13 of Android MLO 9 Note2. Does anyone of you have the same problem?

I am having the same issue. I can only copy the text from a task name if I'm in the edit mode. I'm using MO version 2.5.1 on a Note 5 running Android version 6.0.1.
