On the IOS version, in the Today view:  If you group your My Tasks "By Reminder", and you create a new task, that task will automatically get a reminder set at 10 minutes after the task is created. Bug or Blessing?

Hello John,

I can confirm that behaviour. Of course, if you have your tasks only displayed by reminder, then the reminder has to be set for today in order for the new task to be displayed where you are in the Today view. If you're in that view looking at a day in the future, then it sets the reminder for 9am on that day instead. If you have the Today view set to display by start and due date as well, then the new task also gets the appropriate date set.

So, it's doing what's intended, in order for the Today view to function and to show the new tasks. It can be argued that it's useful, because that 10 minute reminder can prompt you to set a more suitable reminder time for the tasks you've just entered, after you've finished all your task entries in the Today view.

In fact, these features are so useful, that I think I'm going to be starting to use the Today view for entry of new tasks for specific dates.

All the best,
Stéphane

Wow!  What a group!  Thanks to all for your interest and suggestions (and even solutions).  I now have the behavior I want with this filter.  And it is great!  Much Thanks to all.

James.

Hello James,

You're very welcome. Thanks for the initial question, which sparked some good discussion.
I think your post is attached to the wrong discussion thread, though :-). Did you mean to post this response to this one: https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en-GB#!topic/mylifeorganized/-1Fni64Bx44?

Regards,

I didn't post to a place specifically, I just replied to the email I received from the discussion list.  My apologies if it went to the wrong place.
