Hey folks, any programmers out there? MLO needs a Chrome extension to add website links as tasks.

Anyone up to developing one? Just a simple little extension that will sit at the top-right, when clicked, will allow the user to add a link as a task with the link in the notes area and a date-picker. Anyone? Anyone? Pretty please with Cinnabon frosting on top?

I thought I'd give it a shot. ;)

Easy to do on Android using "share"

Easy to do in Windows using AutoHotkey.

I know nothing about that would like to find out how I can do that. Is there some place I can go on the web to find out more?

Sounds like https://autohotkey.com/ might be THE sight for it.

Hi Joel,

https://www.autohotkey.com/ is the main site and the site to download the program from.

It's been a while since I acquired my learning but I believe YouTube still has a number of tutorials which will help.

Good luck.

You can use one of the other webclippers to any webservice that has integration to IFTTT or Zapier, and then use these to generate an email to MLO.

Evernote is obvious, but I use it for so many things - so I currently use Wunderlist's clipper to capture a task there in a "MLO Actions" folder. Then Zapier picks it up and emails it. So WL's extension is exclusively used to capture and forward MLO tasks. I like it because I can also capture selected text to go with the URL, and type in a new heading to become the task text.

The Onenote webclipper can do the same. I just find Onenote messy and confusing to navigate in the web interface.

Just wanted to follow up on this post with a solution that I found. I started using the Send to Gmail extension that Google developed to send webpage links to MLO. You can find it in the Chrome store. It does the job decently well. I would still prefer a native extension that I could click to save website links directly to MLO as tasks but this is the best workaround I could find. Hope this helps anyone else looking for something like this.

Sorry about that. You're right. It's Send from Gmail. Yes, that's the one I'm using. It's working for me at least. Hope others don't have issues.

Hi Folks,

Just wondering if there is a native solution (MLO chrome extension) that allows for adding to the inbox from desktop chrome browser?

I wish this were available for MLO. As my needs are changing and being the fact that a lot of the productivity software available today does have this, I wish Andrey would look for a way that this could be done. Technology is moving in another direction and I feel like MLO is "old school tech".

Definitely old school. It is why they are not expanding into environments like Linux, Apple, Chrome, that would take too much rethink of the whole project, and new development teams. I think he just wants to keep making money off what he made back then so they make it look different and sell again.

I still want them to understand the need for scripting to let us manage automation of what we do, and API but they need to expand their thinking box.

Yeah, that's never going to happen. I realize that at this point.
