Prior to starting or intensifying a workout program, measure and document your heart rate immediately upon waking. This should be done for at least five days leading up to the change. After you have started or intensified your program, continue to take measurements on the days after your workout. An increase of more than 10 beats per minute indicates that your body may not be recovering from the change as efficiently as it should be.

Stretch those hamstrings. The muscles at the back of your thighs, commonly called the hamstrings, are some of the most ignored muscles in the body. Tight hamstrings can lead to back problems, poor movement and a higher chance of injuries. Stretch them and enjoy a fuller range of motion for both your hips and lower back.

You should consider cardio fitness exercises as part of your training. These exercises refer to one of the most important organ systems of our bodies: the heart and the blood vessels.
