I am Sr. Margaret Correa. I am from Santaporio but my Dad bought a house in Bambordem & I lived there till I joined the convent. My mother sold the house to Greta Balaji but we still have a family property at its side. When I go to Moira for holidays I stay with my sister Lily in Povacao & visit my cousins in Santaporio.
I was in Burkina Faso from 2006 to 2013 but ever since I am in London so you can make the necessary changes.
Thank you

Sr. Margaret Correa

Dear Tony- believe you are compiling a list of religious orders priests n nuns from Moira. If that be so I would like to inform you that the house I am staying in belonged to Rev Fr Arun D'Souza SJ presently the Jesuits provincial in Mumbai. He is the son of Mr Arthur D'Souza who is my wife's uncle and who gave us this house in Attafondem,Moira. For your records . Regards Dr Giles Gomez #567,Attafondem,Moira

Just for information,
In my growing up years,  Moira had really a vast and rich history,  heritage of priests and nuns.

I was quietly listening to a conversation that surfaced between my uncle's as to creating a fund to sponsor the formation of a priest from the village,  right thro' and if my memory serves me right,  it was accomplished.

I am also aware but not 100 percent certain,  there is a book on the priests from Goa and surely,  Moira priests will figure out there.

My friend RICO may be can put some light on the same.

Fr Nascimento Mascarenhas has listed the priests of Goa... not sure if all are listed village-wise though. FN

So nice to be in touch, Sister, after all these years. Where in London are you located?
Burkina Faso must have been a real challenge... we just know of it as Upper Volta. and as kids we were charmed by the name of its capital Ouagadougou! Guess that when the name is so long, then Ouaga is fine! (I'm just reading that the actual name is even longer: "Wage sabre soba koumbem tenga", meaning "head war chief's village". Ouagadougou is a Francophone spelling of the name.)
More recently, have been seeing videos about Thomas Sankara, who seems to have been an amazing man, though not everybody would have liked his radical politics.
A friend of mine -- the Jesuit from Tivim, Fermin D'Souza SJ -- was based in Liberia for some time.
All the best and good wishes.I recall meeting up in Moira when Dr Teo was around. FN
PS: I'm sure there must be more nuns from Moira, whom we are missing out on listing.

Actually, Tony, I just put together some of the earlier names mentioned on Moira-Net maybe ten years or more ago, and which we all (me too) seem to have forgotten. Sorted it in alphabetical order, using the Gnumeric spreadsheet, to avoid repetitions, as far as possible.
Since I'm stretched thin, I unfortunately cannot take on the responsibility of "compiling the list" (some are born compilers, some take on the task of compiling and some have compiling thrust upon them :-)).
It's best if someone connected to Moira takes up the task. It's far from a tough job, just needs time, patience and determination.
Am myself also looking to that long elusive book on Moira which has taken so many years to come (I hear some steps are afoot, overseas, and hope that fructifies).
And also a bright and informative Moira page on the Wikipedia. Moira can do better:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moira,_Goa [as it currently stands]. FN
