I'll started in the general MobiMOOC group and thought I'll move my first project about job profiles to the official MobiMOOC projects discussion forum.

I attached the file, though I am not sure whether it will work. Here is as well the link to my initial project.

I also copy the correspondence here as well. Thanks again to all who left a comment and all those who cared to read. Thanks :-)

Hallo everybody,

I finally finshed my draft of an idea that I had for an mlearning project. I briefly mentioned it already in another forum and recieved some encouraging comments to continue. Thus, I used the template and tried to write something down which I hope makes some sense.

I work in a German vocational school and teach mainly healthcare classes. However, the students haven't entered the job market yet, but we try to prepare them. This is where my project idea tie on. Students often just have a vague idea about jobs and are unaware of the broad range of jobs available. The goal of the project is that students explore future jobs they are interested in in more detail. an authenticity and student-centred approach is favoured.

All comments are welcome.

Hi Sylvia,

Good Job! The idea is clear. Reading it I thought about digital storytelling as a method for the students to present the information. I think that ist may be hard job to find organisations that let visitors take videos. A lot of ethical and legal issues...

Keep om going.

Lieben Gruß,
Lutz

Hallo Lutz,

thanks for your helpful comments. The idee about digital storytelling sounds very good and could be easily included. You are right about the ethical and legal issues which could be indeed be a problem. However, our students have to participate in a four week intership, thus our school could establish over the years some good contacts with e.g. the local hospital or some senior citizen homes, which might help to convience them to give permission for the project. Of course every person photographed or interviewed needed to be asked for permisson to use the photo and the institution needs to give permission.

Let's hope for the very best :-)

Yeah in agreement, people need this info,It reminds of a friend who did post research about nice / nature at the university and people thought it was riduculous who would need it? but the lecturers found they lacked such documentation esp for history (most was diminishing)/ tourists and it was happily approved! But how long will you sustain managing? or you are thinking of handover per year after may be your expired years unless you are a lecturer or part of the university.

Hallo everybody,

I am going to move this discussion to the MobiMOOC project discussion. You might also want to comment on another quite similar project about reminiscing work with older people.

Hi Sylvia,
I agree with Lutz, the project would greatly benefit from digital storytelling- another term for this is citizen mojo (mojo meaning mobile-journo).
I film in hospital and health care facilities regularly with staff and patients.  It is essential to ensure you have Photo/Video Consent forma and people are very clear of how the footage will be utilised.  I find if you explain to the people you are filming how beneficial their contribution, they tend to be happy to be part of it.

The other thing that I visualised when reading your project was the potential inclusion of AR (I am not an expert at all) but after participating in Victor Alvarez and also David Metcalfe there could be some amazing simulation and engagement from the students.

Could part of the internship by the students  include capturing some of their learnings on the various roles. This would provide the uni with a stock library of amazing visual descriptors on the various roles. The student 'voice' teaching other students.
