I just got MLO 2 a couple days ago. In a lot of ways this is a step forward. In a few it's a step back however.

One thing I commonly do is postpone tasks by a day or two. In MLO 1 it seemed I could quickly select a task, navigate to the due date, scroll it up a day, and back out to finish. In MLO 2 I have to hold down on the task to get the "context menu" to appear, allowing me to adjust the due date.

Two things that would speed this up:

  1. Add an option to make it so that tapping, rather than holding, will also bring up the "context menu". Even though this only saves you a second each time, it's annoying when you want to postpone more than about 2 tasks, and it ends up feeling a lot slower than in MLO 1 (I'm not sure whether it actually is slower, but it feels like it is).
  2. Add a "+1 day" to the "context menu" so that postponing by one day can be done without the extra navigation. This could also be an option as I realize it would expand the "context menu" to a second line.

Hi, Todd. I agree with you that editing task dates in MLO/Android v2 involves an unreasonably long clickstream, and I'm hopeful that the developers will get around to improving this soon. In the meanwhile, there is a different way to edit the dates for all the tasks in a list. It is still unreasonably long but it might possibl;y save you a click or two compared to how you are doing it now, and definitely avoids the long-tap that you dislike for bringing up the context menu.
1.Select the first task in the list (highlight it)
2. swipe right to left to raise the Task Preview page
3. tap anywhere to raise the task edit page
4. tape in the date area to bring up the date page
5. tap on the date you want to change
6. select the new date off of the calendar
7 tap "√Save"
8 tap "√Done"
9 In the bottom right of the task preview page find a button that brings you to the next task and tap it, then repeat to step 3.

Thanks Dwight, I hadn't yet discovered the Task Preview pane.
