Hi, Todd. I agree with you that editing task dates in MLO/Android v2 involves an unreasonably long clickstream, and I'm hopeful that the developers will get around to improving this soon. In the meanwhile, there is a different way to edit the dates for all the tasks in a list. It is still unreasonably long but it might possibl;y save you a click or two compared to how you are doing it now, and definitely avoids the long-tap that you dislike for bringing up the context menu.
1.Select the first task in the list (highlight it)
2. swipe right to left to raise the Task Preview page
3. tap anywhere to raise the task edit page
4. tape in the date area to bring up the date page
5. tap on the date you want to change
6. select the new date off of the calendar
7 tap "√Save"
8 tap "√Done"
9 In the bottom right of the task preview page find a button that brings you to the next task and tap it, then repeat to step 3.
