Has anyone developed a creative solution to water-proof the OD board? If all goes well, the board should stay dry, although I imagine there'll be at least one accidental overflow in our future.

Without a doubt there will be an overflow. I've had many.I don't really have a solution to it, although I've found that cleaning the OD boards by soaking them in DI water works well. I also try to scrub the salts off with a clipped paint brush (so the bristles are a bit stiffer). Thus far, the boards have worked just fine after a good cleaning.
