Lyrics to "Fork in the Road"
Got a pot belly,
It's not too big
Gets in my way
When I'm driving my rig
Driving this country
In a big old rig
Things I've seen
Mean a lot
Friend has a pickup
Drives his kid to school
Then he takes his wife
To beauty school
Now she's doin' nails
Gonna get a job
Got a good teacher
There's a fork in the road ahead
I don't which way I'm gonna turn
There's a fork in the road ahead
About this year
We salute the troops
They're all still there
In a fucking war
It's no good
Whose idea was that?
I've got hope
But you can't eat hope
I'm not done
Not giving up
Not cashing in
Too late
There's a bailout coming but it's not for me
It's for all those creeps watching tickers on TV
There's a bailout coming but it's not for me
I'm a big rock star
My sales have tanked
But I still got you
Thanks

Sounds like shit
Keep on bloggin'
'Til the power goes out
Your battery's dead
Twist and shout
On the radio
Those were the days
Bring 'em back
There's a bailout coming but it's not for you
It's for all those creeps hiding what they do
There's a bailout coming but it's not for you
Bailout coming but it's not for you
Got my flat screen
Got it repo'd now
They picked it up
Left a hole in the wall
Last Saturday
Missed the Raiders game
There's a bailout coming but it's not for you
There's a bailout coming but it's not for you
It's for all those creeps hiding what they do

i'm guessing that the new song has something to do with his blog of a

Heard a DJ once say that no matter how bad you feel, Neil Young can make you
feel worse.
Still, he's got a job to do.
Do you think the same?
I think he's very uplifting.

-Do you think the same?
-I think he's very uplifting.
I don't think about him much either way these days though there was a time
when, what with the bullwhips crackin' and the soldiers gunnin' us down and
whatnot, he seemed often to be on the far side of depressing.

Or "Sugar Mountain"
what, you think it would have better at the time if he sang about how
wonderful Nixon was?
Neil's an artist, not a piece of candy.
anyway, as an artist, he's chosen to address the full range of human
experience, not just the happy-go-lucky moments.
so his output covers everything from light-hearted fun to the more
serious of subject matters.
and his expression of things is almost always powerfully and
beautifully done.
sometimes with a sublime sense of humor as well.
so even when the subject matter might be depressing, he manages to be
uplifting somehow.
unless your Neil Young filter is faulty.
which it is for a lot of people.

Hey, I'm not anti-Neil. I've heard him rock like it's supposed to be, frank,
uninhibited, unpretentious- like the song I referred to in my original
reply, 'Ten Men Working' (even nearly worked Steven Stills into the cite,
accidentally.) . And I don't have a Neil Young filter.
I heard another DJ say that whichever band Neil Young is playing with is the
World's Greatest Garage Band. Wanna make something out of it?

Yeah, I know them
Like I said to '$Zero', I'm not anti-Neil. I was just quoting someone's
comment about his 'blue period'.
'Sugar Mountain' had something to do with Joni Mitchell, didn't it?
