Sidenote: An article about Nick Jonas that
I posted July 7 2019 is linked to below. At
the time, I hadn't seen a recent article docu-
menting Nick was still using a Dexcom CGM,
but apparently, from the link above, he's still
using one.
https://groups.google.com/g/misc.health.diabetes/c/ThoNLcDNAkE/m/e1Urzf82AQAJ

The article also documents the fact I had
lost enough weight to get down to 143.2
pounds & a BMI of 22.9. Shocked to see
that as my weight rebounded and now is
so high I'm just barely in the overweight ...

... category, 186 pounds at 5 ft 6.25 inches,
BMI 29.8, & am starting a ~1,000 calories
per day diet, with 3-5 30 minute indoor cyc-
ling events each day to reduce my weight
again.

Retirement, I'm enjoying it but gaining 43
pounds, yikes, past time to get that down
though I don't know how far down I'll go
this time. I will try to keep it down, but as
documented in the following, that's easier
said than done:

The following features a person with Islit
(Insulinitis, near-total to total loss of endo-
genous insulin) who uses a Dexcom G6,
and many with any of the 7 Disparate
High Glucose Conditions who cannot
afford a Dexcom G6 ...
https://bunow.com/diabetics-share-mixed-reactions-to-dexcoms-5-5-million-super-bowl-commercial/

... along with their comments criticizing
the Dexcom commercial simply due to
the fact it costs so much they cannot
afford it / use it.

Myself, I could afford it until I went on
Medicare / Humana Gold, and they
quoted me a price of $262.80 for the
transmitter & $365.76 for 9 sensors,
which lasts 3 months.

I'm still trying to get insurance author-
ization for a lower price, but it's taken
over a month to get that, & I'm still
trying to get it. If I have to pay over
$2,500 per year to use it, well, jeez,
don't know if I'll be able to afford it.

After one week on the exercise/diet routine,
disappointed that I've only lost 1 pound, my
current BMI = 29.6. Oh well, I suppose since
I'm older my weight loss will come slower. How-
ever long it takes, I hope I don't go through a
'very hungry' increased eating rebound like ...

... I did when I reduced down to 143.2 pounds,
and am able to stabilize my weight at what-
ever weight I reduce down to. Of course, with
the supposed 'normal' weight being a max of
BMI 24.9, I should try to get down to a max
of 155 pounds, but I'm not sure I'll be able ...

.... to get it that low this time, as it may be
much more difficult to lose weight at age
65 than it was when I was 63 years young.
Also, last time, I was 'very hungry' at 143.2
pounds, causing a 43 pound weight rebound,
and I don't want to experience that again.
