தமிழ் ஓம் நிலைப்படுத்த சில முயற்சிகளை மேற்கொண்டோம்.
முக்கியமாக, யுனிகோடில் வைத்துவிட்டால் வரும் தலைமுறைக்கு
மறக்காதல்லவா? இதில் வெர்றியும் கிடைத்துள்ளது,
இந்தி ஓம் என்பதற்கு சரிநிகர் சமானமாகத் தமிழ் ஓமும்
காலமெல்லாம் விளங்கும்.

Here is the proposal I wrote for ISO/UN body. So far, there is no letter
on Tamil OM in computers. Because of the proposal's acceptance by
ISO 10646 body, Tamil OM symbol will be in computer code point
(at U+0BCD) forever. Pl. read the accepted proposal from ISO website,

Because of this, Tamil Om is available in computer fonts,
and available for searching in Google etc.,

I am also in the process of adding alveolar n (iraNDu cuzhi n) to
Malayalam, special Zha to Telugu, and the Grantha script to Unicode.
The day is not far off when we can put all Tanjore temple inscriptions
on the web in Grantha and Tamil scripts, and be able to search for
a single word in google etc., Als, we will be able to read a
Hindi webpage in Tamil or Grantha or vice versa soon.
Plus, translations between any 2 India's languages' web pages must be
easy, say in 2011 or 2012.

Tamil Ohm in Unicode,
It is not encoded as explained earlier. ie, It is PARTLY not true.
I tried to propose encoding Tamil Ohm in Unicode. Some ill informed
individuals blocked my attempt.

Hindi Ohm is encoded as one symbol in Unicode.
Our Tamil enemies blocked a similar approach to Tamil.
Instead they forced a combination of codes to form Tamil Ohm, so that the
use will be limited , difficult and the Hindi Ohm will be dominant.

Further, there is complications in the implementation of Tamil ohm to
identify when Ohm is Ohm and when OO m is OO m!!

This is a false statement. Tamil Om is a single code point, no combination
of codes to form Tamil Om.

Tamil Om is exactly equivalent to Hindi Om in Unicode, with both Om signs
having identical properties.

yes, you are correct.

I had very tiring argument with UC long time ago on why this should be a
single code and mistook the final decision.

It is good that ohm has a single code.

Try copying the obdo character in the following page and paste it to your document. I think I have only included the ohm character in the aAvarangal font (not aAvarangal2).
