Windows Security Center.AntiVirusOverride: Settings (Registry change,
nothing done)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security
Center\AntiVirusOverride!=dword:0
I have just updated with MS Update on the XP.
What do you suggest?

I would like to know how it bug in spybot s&d? I didn't get that
until after I did the last windows update.

I suspect he saying it is an inconsequential change in the register as far
as he can tell. I'm wondering if the 'dword=0' means that it is not to
function; that is AntiVirusOverride is turned off. And perhaps a dword of
some other value lets only one specific process execute in the override
mode. Then the value acts as a temporary key code that only Windows knows
how to decipher.

Well, Windows having a legitimate registry entry being tagged as suspicious
is not an error with Windows. It's up to the software authors to ensure they
remain current with the advances of the OS though why it's just appearing
now is beyond me. I think an example is (and this isn't a very good one) if
a company makes an after market auto part then it's up to them to ensure
they make new parts for new models as opposed to the manufacturer of the
automobile being limited to keep everything the same to make their job
easier. I know, it's not a good analogy but I hope it shows at least why I
feel it's not something Microsoft did. Were they supposed to test every
application or get the security updates out as quickly as they could within
reason? It's a give and take thing I suppose but that's my take on it. YMMV
Basically, you've told Windows Security Center (WSC) that you will monitor
your third-party firewall's and anti-virus app's status because in the past
WSC wasn't able to. Open WSC and check to see if it can monitor it now. You
may be surprised.

This is dead right. I previously couldn't get Windows to Monitor my
Norton Antivirus. I also noticed these entries in SpyBot and didn't
think anything of it.
I have now noticed that Windows Security Center can now monitor my
Norton Antivirus (In fact it gives me a warning for the few seconds
before Norton Initializes saying Norton is Disabled!).

Control Panel --> Security Center..
And with your machine, FS, that would not be a surprise. *grin*
