See subject. I'm unable to place an order on Misumi's website or over the phone with my debit card. After 3 days of calling back and forth between Misumi,my bank, and the company that manages my bank's card system, they've finally narrowed it down to Misumi's website mistakenly requiring a MasterCard Securecode, even though there is nowhere for me to input it, and Misumi's representatives swearing up and down that they've don't and never have required it. I finally got through to Misumi's tech-department yesterday, and they're supposedly going to manually force my order through the system some time in the next few days. Here's to hoping, I guess.

Weird. I haven't heard of similar problems. Hopefully whatever it is gets fixed for you.

I just placed two orders with them this week with no problems. On the
first one I requested a quote then ordered, the second one I placed as
a 'quick order'.

They both went through within 10 minutes and are shipping early next
week.

Their site is geared more to a company than an individual purchaser,
but it's nice that they accept personal orders.

I ordered something a week ago as NCBob did with a req for quote and it shipped
and arrived a few days later.

I called and they told me to order over the phone I'd need to fill out an info sheet and
fax it back. The website took the order with no questions.

The searching for things is weird on their site but knowing the part numbers ahead
lets you do a quote and then buy. Which works well.

I've ordered from them twice, once about 2 months ago, and more recently about 2 weeks ago. Both orders went through easy as can be. Admittedly I was using a Mastercard each time. My only problem with Misumi is finding exactly what I need in their printed catalog. Which is in Japanese. Thank god for the online catalog. :)

The Misumi US catalog is in English, as is the UK version. You cannot download the PDF version of the US catalog, but you can download the British version at  http://www.misumi-europe.com/index.aspx?lang=EN&fn=sub1_3.aspx&mu=05&css=L2&ref=ecat

Note that is a 400+MB download.

They actually called me about the catalog. They said that they had run out of the English ones, so they sent the Japanese one instead. I would still have the same problem. Regardless of what language it's in, 2 volumes is a lot when you're not exactly sure what you're looking for.

I'll chime in on this saying that I ordered gears from Misumi sometime last week (maybe 2 weeks ago...) and realized on Saturday that I had never received the parts, or any type of order confirmation. Went back to look at my order history and there was no record of my order being placed.

Placed the order again on Saturday, received an order confirmation page,  and today my account again shows no record of the order. I'm using a Visa card, so maaaaybe there's a connection.
