As I understand this, you can read a raw (headerless)format codeplug from a radio and write that into another radio. I don't think this works with standard codeplugs, but if you were for example trying to setup a dozen radios, you might use this in combination with the ability of the MD380-tools menu to customize the radio ID from the front panel.

./md380-dfu read myrawcodeplugfilename

./md380-dfu write myrawcodeplugfilename

You can also write a .rdt format Codeplug to the radio on Linux using the command "-/md380tools/md380-dfu write codeplug name.rdt"

When writing a Codeplug to the radio, the radio must be in normal operating mode.

I don't think that any of the programs to edit the Codeplug work on Linux. If you transfer the Codeplug from a Windows machine to Linux using FTP, make sure that the FTP is done in binary mode.

The Codeplug Editor is running fine under Wine. I use it on macOS and Linux.
But you still need md380tools to write the Codeplug, since the USB connection does not work under Wine.

Wilfried is right.

1) Install and configure Wine

2) Install the latest CPS software to create your codeplug
Specifically you want the file called: TYT / Tytera MD-390 CPS v1.36 (even if you have an RT3 or MD-380, its all the same software)

3) Install that under Wine

4) Open that program and create a codeplug. Save it using the File menu -> Save

5) Then write it using md380-tool
./md380-tool write codeplug.rdt
