Uveitis is inflammation of the uvea, the middle layer of the eye. Infections, injury and autoimmune disorders may be associated with the development of uveitis, though the exact cause is often unknown. Uveitis can be serious, leading to permanent vision loss.

My daughter Sakshi was detected with an auto immune disease almost 8 yrs back, this autoimmune disease resulted in she getting bilateral uveitis and suspected JRA(Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis). For the first 4 years, she was treated with topical steroids to stem Uveitis infection and keep her eyes calm. The high dosages of steroids caused immense damage to her right eye leading to reduced vision and secondary glaucoma. For the next 3.5 years we shifted her to biological agents like Infliximab (biological agent) which was infused into her every 6-8 weeks and required hospitalisation. Each injection costs about Rs 40000/- (forty thousands). The output expected from this line of treatment was that the disease will go into remission and may not recur for a long period of time. But unfortunately that outcome was never reached, infact the resultant was a sharp drop in her immunity levels and growth.

During last 8 years of journey we have visited multiple specialists and super specialists, even tried Ayurveda but nothing really worked. We had reached a level of frustration and desperation as we were seeing no results from any fronts.

It was just a chance that we got referred to Manas by an acquaintance, we met him in October – November 2013 timeframe, and started the magnets treatment. We started observing her eye condition and eye pressure, we were hoping that we will be able to increase the interval of the infusion by at least 3-4 weeks. The treatment continued, days turned into weeks and now months, and touch wood it’s like a miracle; we have observed that for last two months Sakshi’s eyes have been stable and the eye pressure is also coming normal. Since about 5 months we have not given Infliximab (biological agent). We are very hopeful that in the next couple of months of continued treatment, this disease could either go into remission or get treated for ever.

We are very thankful to Manas for his dedication, ingenuity in the treatment and anytime support (we have disturbed him at odd hours and he been gracious enough to accommodate us). Please continue the good work.
