I'm making a pitch to use Lsyncd in our company.

*nix is fine, but packages outside of the standard RHEL repositories make management nervous.

It's worked well in my limited testing, but some assurances on longevity and support would be useful.

Thanks!

Version 1 was released August 2008.

The 1.x series was C-only based and had little in common with the 2.x series (released 2010) which turned out to become a complete rewrite using Lua first as configuration tool only, but then taking over more and more logic.

To be honest, it's still a one person show tough. So if the bus hits me tomorrow... it's likely left to be unmaintained.

Kind regards, Axel

In my limited world LSYNCD is a nice way to use RSYNC between servers. RSYNC should stop the lactative effect on management. RSYNC is an old core proggy in worlds best OS.
A passive ready to go setup of RSYNC daemon and cronjobs could be a backup of LSYNCD solution. LSYNCD is a very very nice solution.
Cheers

Thanks, that indicates good maturity in the product.
I'll stay away from mentioning Lsyncd uses Lua. I don't want to raise any further concerns.

Given the interest I've seen in this tool, your efforts are appreciated.
But, stay away from buses please...

Regards,
 Garry
