Brewers,

For those participating in the club brew day tomorrow, I’ll be starting around 9am. Make sure you bring a fermenter/bucket to take your wort home. As mentioned in the meeting recap, you will need to supply your own yeast.

For anyone that didn’t sign up, feel free to drop by and hang out for a beer. Hoping to be wrapped up by around 2-3pm.

Address:
825 N 10th Ave
Springfield, NE

Cheers,

Justin C

I had some last minute family stuff come up and won't be able to make it unfortunately. Sorry for the last minute notice!

Good morning brewers,

I am unfortunately sick this morning and feel like crap. We will see how I feel later, I might be able to stop by to fill my fermenter up, but I will not be there all day as I do not want to get anyone else sick.

Nope, if you’re sick sit this out.

Anyone else out there that has an empty fermenter and wants some wort, come on out.

Big ole shoutout to CJ for hosting the brew day yesterday. We had a couple of hiccups early on in the process but overall I would say it was successful Also, the rig is a beast.

Now to the not so fun part, where I am going to be a little bit of a jerk .

When you sign up, or agree, to participate in something such as a brew day, we count on you to be there. In addition, if you sign up for a brew day, you are expected to be there for the entire brew day. The club spent funds to cover ingredients and had we not had some step up and take some wort, we would have ended up having to dump a good portion of the wort, which is obviously a waste of club funds.

It has been discussed and decided that going forward, special opportunities for activities such as club brew days, serving at festivals, etc. will be reserved for those that are active in the club and actively attend meetings. This will allow us to have active discussions at meetings about planning and scheduling these activities. The end goal here is to ensure that when we have these special events, they are well attended.

Hopefully this makes sense and folks understand the reasoning behind the decision.

If you have any questions, give me a shout.

Cheers,
Bryan

Well said and agree with your decision Bryan. Wanted to sign up and wish I could’ve made it, looking forward to future brew days and hope to see pictures of CJ’s setup!

So do all the gallons brewed count against Justin’s 100/year limit or are they divvied up by folks who took home wort 😉

I'm pretty sure for the purposes of the ATF I only saw CJ brewing 5 gallons of beer.

The rest was just barley soup
