This version is not yet fine tuned, I'm posting it as Beta Test version.
I decided to release it because the new Kisslicer 1.5Testing produces differents bfb files and I had to make some changes into the post-processor.
CubeitMod V4.0Beta works with the previous version of Kisslicer and also with the new one 1.5Testing.
The older CubeItMod V3.7 works only with the older Kisslicer.
CubeItMod 3.7 DOESNT WORK WITH Kisslicer 1.5Testing !!!

What's new :
-The Solid function that is used by Kisslicer to fill flat horizontal surfaces is now manged into a diffferent way.
The previous Solid% ( into CubeItMod V3.7) was used to reduce the amount of plastic extruded and was applied to all the "Solid" surfaces of the priting.
Now every line into the solid is calculated differently and you'll have an automatic big correction for small lines and an automatic adjustment with low correction for longer lines. ( you'll notice the speed of the motor will change while printing a flat surface).
This will help obtain good surfaces on parts with both large and small flat horizontal surfaces.
Solid% can still be used to tweak the correction, if you set 100 = no tweak, if you set less than 100 less material will be printed on very small flat surfaces, if you set more than 100 more material will be printed on very small surfaces.

About installation :
If you're already running CubeItMod V3.7, just copy CubeItMod.exx into your Kisslicer folder, delete the old CubeItMod and rename CubeItMod.exx to CubeItMod.exe

If you're not running CubeItMod V3.7 here's how to install :

1 ) copy the CubeItMod files into the Kisslicer Folder
Rename CubeItMod.exx to CubeItMod.exe

2) Start Kisslicer and go to Preferences/Languages/Load Language file
Select the CubeitMod.po
Now you have the new Menu, with the names for CubeItMod.

3) Go to Printer/Firmware/Post-Processor menu and put :
cubeitmod.exe <FILE>

4)  Into the Printer/Firmware Menu
Turn the comments ON
Turn USE M228 ON

5) Into Material menu use these starting settings, after you can fine tune these values to fit your materials and the part you're printing :

M227P = 0.15
M227S = 0.04
M228P= 0.015
M228S= 0.02
Infill% = 100
Solid% = 100

6) Into Style menu put Use M227 ON

7) Check your Prt GCode menu you must have :

Prefix :
^Firmware:V1.07
; [mm] mode
G21
; absolute mode
G90

Select Extruder:
; Select extruder, warm, purge

; BfB-style
M542
M<EXT+1>04 S<TEMP>
M55<EXT+1> P3000 S80
M543

Deselect Extruder:
; Guaranteed same extruder, cooling down

; BfB-style
M<EXT+1>04 S<TEMP>

N [*] Layers
; Maybe re-home X & Y?

Postfix
M103
M104 S0
M204 S0
M304 S0

8) Examples of Fine tuning :

This works fine for me on ABS, Layer thickness 0.05, Infill 33%, 2 loops, loops go from inside to perimeter ON

Giovanni, I get a hang up at the save step. The black window opens and the buffer wheel just keeps turning. I am not using any spaces or cap's in the file name.  When I close the window I get a "Failed, returning-1073741510" error. I have gone over the install 10 times not sure what I missed. I have not been able to get any of your versions run yet. I am trying V4.0 and new KS version

Hi,

If your cubex is a duo or a trio, check your second material and the infill % also.

You don't have to close the window, the window will be closed when CubeItMod finished to process the file.

Hi Tom,
you have to set the Solid% on the material used by the extruder, first go to :

Here you can select the materials that can be used by the printer, in this example I use "ABS 0.1 Whit PLA Support" on Extruder 1 and "PLA Support" on Extruder 2.
I only have 2 extruders, If you have more you have to check each material.
Now go to :

And check that all the materials you select for the extruders are OK.

Giovanni, What would cause V4.0 to stop saving a file as a .bfb? It worked fine last night and the only change I made was to style. When I save to a flash drive I get two files one of them is .bak and the other has no extension. if I rename the file to include .bfb, I can open it but the printer will not recognize it.

Hi Joe,
V4.0 still save as bfb, as you can see into the window that appears when you click SAVE.
Are you shure the other has no extension or the extension is just hidden by Windows parametres ?
post here your 2 files or send them to me as a private message, i'll look at them.

Can you please print the attached file on your printer and let me know if the quality is good ?
you have to put an ABS cartridge on bay 1.
Check z-gap on printer before start.
the part is a small triangle and it will be printed near the corner of your printer, it'll tak just a few minutes to print.
It's important to me because I've made some changes to the algorithm that calculâtes the flat surfaces to fine tune the V4.0, it works pretty good on my printer but before release the new version of CubeItMod I need to know if it works good on other printers too.

I think that when I saved the file I named it ".05layer_test" when I removed the "." the problem went away. I will try the file and let you know the results

Thanks, Joe

"Failed returning 1" means that Kisslicer was unable to start CubeItMod.exe
Check if you changed the extension exx to exe
Try to start CubeItMod.exe manually by double clicking on it.
If it's OK maybe you mismatched the letters ( the I is an i in capitals and not an L with small characters ), write the name without capitals into Kisslicer's Post-Processor window : cubeitmod.exe

I was waiting to see if the beta release is stable.
Seems stable enough for me.
Here is the Mac OSX port.
Extract the zip file into your KISSlicer application directory (mine is /Applications/KissSlicer_4_1 for the new MAC version)
Import the CubeItMod.po language file.
Modify the firmware Post-Process entry to look like the one below - replace /Applications/KissSlicer_4_1 with your KISSlicer path)

"/Applications/KissSlicer_4_1/CubeItNet.app/Contents/MacOS/CubeItNet" "<FILE>"

Hi Peter, the version Beta4 is a little better than this one.
Did you try to reprint parts like your clock ? It should be printed better now because of the thin and larges solid surfaces.

I may re-print the clock.
For now, I got a good print with the previous versions.
I got some ProtoParadigm 1.75mm green PLA.
This filament works really well with the Cubex - I haven't had a single filament flow or jam with it yet.
I'd post the STL's for the clock, but it still needs tweaking with the backing plate for the LED mounts.
It takes 1 to 2 LEDs for each word.  I had to build light diffusers using sanded plexiglass.
It not only tells the time, it also tells you when it is Lunch time, Quitting time and Beer time!  (You tell it which hour of the day is each type).

Hello,

I have tried to print this little part and ... the print worked great! :)
Despite the part didn't stick on the bed, I can see the quality is better (better isn't enough!).

I am very impressed to see that this is the software which define most the quality, not the hardware.

I'll tried to slice and print another part tomorrow, hoping it will stick better than today's printings :) (Without heated bed, just with 'magic glue' or double-faced Stoch tape, this is difficult)

Ohhh, I read my message, and I have to correct a sentence => (better isn't enought ... to describe how sweet the quality is)
Sorry for this poor translation (I'm french)

I check the spelling and extension and they are correct.  CubeItMod.exe is in the KISSLicer directory. I double click the CubeItMod.exe and it worked. Maybe the issue has something to do with my computer setup? I am using a MacBook Pro and running Parallels to run Windows 7. I never had an issue running a windows program with this setup, but maybe KISSlicer and CubeItMod.exe doesn’t like it?

Hi to everyone!

What do you mean "If you have more you have to check each material" ?

The solid % is on Style tab, isn't it?

Is there any solid % in the material tab?

Please go to the CubeItMod V4.5 tread and follow the instructions.
You'll also find my ini files and it'll be much more easier to make it work, dont forget to install CubeItMod.po into Kisslicer.

I only used the Kisslicer_setting_CubeX_rev1 and I had many problems with the extruders change.

The extruderd did not clean well and there was always some filament at the extruder not used.

I am trying the Cubeit (V4+) .......
I see the instructions M227 and M228... and I hope it could solve my problem. I hope it makes a suck before putting the extruder out of service.
