Now that the head has been replaced (pictures and crappy narrative to follow), I am turning my attention to the freshwater plumbing.
It's old. Yellowed. And the water that comes out of the taps is, if you put it in, say, a clean white porcelain bowl, visibly dark.
I'll do a complete dump and replace of the water in the tanks, but I suspect that the only answer is to replace the freshwater piping.
On the prior boat, I repiped everything with PEX. This was pretty easy, as it was a race boat with everything exposed, and only a few runs.
The J/40 looks to have about 8 different runs from the central distribution point and the lines are snaked around under boards and things.
I am thinking that with the (somewhat) more flexible PEX-A, I can pull the lines through with a fishtape. Or some such arrangement.
Has anyone any relevant experience to share?
Thanks in advance...
Michael
