It is my feeling that these continued announcements by you about what will
happen in the Rails Israel conference, are reducing from the signal-to-noise
ratio of the mailing list. They are not off-topic, but still their continued
posting is annoying to me, in part because I do not have an intention of
attending the conference.

Please consider reducing the frequency of announcements you make about it.

Regards,

Guys!
I really like the idea of a good Ruby/Rails conference in Israel, thanks for making this happen.
But you have a very serious issue with your site: the conference is said to be international, while the ticket order form is in HEBREW.
Even if someone from abroad wanted to visit, he can't buy a ticket and will probably skip it.

PS: Also, some teaser of _what_ the people would be speaking off would be nice too.

Dimitri,

I don't think that overseas developers will purchase tickets. It's  still a long trip here..

But, You are right and I think we should offer English interface as well. It's a standard I would like to adopt.

We  have done plenty of work with PayPal API there, and all the coupons and discount modules involved, Remember that  everything is just a part of Confitoora. www.events.co.il

But We will see on the 8th, after holidays,  if there is a reasonable way to face the challenge

Best

Greetings,
Just wanted to point out that international or not doesnt matter.
What matters is that about 1/5th of tech industry people dont speak good hebrew - or any at all - in Israel.
The tech industry, being an english speaking industry everywhere in the world.

The events that dont run in english, end up being much smaller, not getting top people, and obviously no international support either - but they also marginalize the top tech people from within Israel itself.

If you want to be an opera singer, you must learn italian - a scientist, must learn latin - but a techpreneur must learn english.

Conference looks awesome (and your speakers, will be speaking english...no?)
baruch haba ;)

Well, for some time now, scientists in many (most?) fields did not have to
learn Latin. My father, for example, has a Ph.D. in Immunology (a field
of Biology) and does not know Latin. He knows English very well, though,
and a lot of the ongoing research in Biology is done in English.

I agree about the fact that info-tech workers should learn English, but
I've seen some people who are tech workers with really bad one.

One should note that in many countries students are still taught Latin in
some high-level high schools/etc.

My talk will give you the best of both worlds: Hebrew with an American
accent! :-)
