Metal Gear Solid 2 in GMA 945

Hi everyone, it's my first post here, looking around the web i found
the way to run MGS2 in GMA 945. I know it's an old game but i like it
a lot. It's easier than i believe, but it works.

You need:
- i tested it on windows seven modded with the drives do we have here.
-install mgs2 rip or full.
-install the patch 2.0
-replace originals with mgs2.exe and mgs2_sse.exe crack
-Run Intel Display Adapter Management Tool 1.1 add mgs2.exe and
mgs2_sse.exe and change them to software mode.
-Install Creative Alchemy, if you want to, reboot.
-Run creative alchemy and add mgs2 to the list, follow the steps.
-Run mgs2!

It's awesome, also we can add it to the list of games running on gma
945. maybe you have to configure video untl run it in a propperly way.

i'm glad that someone can use it, by the way it runs in hp pavilion
dv2000, 2gb ram, intel gma945, intel core 2 duo and win 7 modded. if
you have any questions please ask. And whoever runs mgs2 will be

hmm the sse crack is interesting. Also about alchemy, if you use a
realtek audio card, you can download Realtek's 3DSoundBack Beta. Or if
you can find a copy of it still, you could use Alchemy Universal
(cracked copy of creative's alchemy)

Hola a todos, lamento que estè en ingles pero MAD BEAST quiza ayude
con la traduccion, es simple pero bueno, les explicarè como es la
nuez. Los pasos son mas o menos los mismos. Disculpen por la demora
pero un tiempo me quedè sin pc, espero que les sirva.

1- Deben tener los drivers para el gma 945 express chipset windows
seven de la pagina de intel. Instalan y reinician.
2- Instalan el GMA_Mod_V1.0_Fixed y reinician.
3- Instalan el GMA_Mod_V1.1_Final y reinician.
4- Instalan la versiòn full de MGS2
5- Instalan el Patch V2.0 y luego reemplazan los mgs2.exe y
mgs2_sse.exe, los ponen en compatibilidad xpSP2.
6- Instalan el Creative Alchemy Universal 1.00.08, lo ejecutan, click
en agregar, en la ventana ponen el titulo del juego Metal Gear Solid
2, en ubicaciòn seleccionan usar ruta de juego, en mi caso es C:
\Program Files\KONAMI\MetalGearSolid2 Substance, seleccionan instalar
en subcarpeta y escriben "Bin" sin comillas. Listo le dan a aceptar.
7- Abren el Display Management tool y agregan los dos ejecutables a la
lista cambiando al modo software, haciendolo en los 2 display adapter.
8- Corren el juego. Va muy bien en realidad, lo pueden mejorar
probando las configuraciones de video del propio juego para que hallen
la optima en cada caso.

PD: Los links para el patch, el fix y el display management tool estan
bien.

Im going to translate it for u soldiers what is not obvios like
install MDs

all u need is what i (MAD_BEAST) provided up there cracks, and patch,
the right version of alchemy is the one Fautuz mentioned 1.00.08

Add the exe to DMT 1.1 or 1.5

Add the path to the folder Bin of MGS2 main folder in the ADD of
ACLCHEMY something like
C:\Program Files\KONAMI\MetalGearSolid2 Substance\bin and click the
check box that says disable direct sound or something like that
a couple of file will appear in the bin folder.
RUN

if it dosent run try again the Alchemy step without the Disable direct
sound or something like that...

It runs... but crahes everytime the gameplay starts...

i got the game running, doesn't crash, but the sound is annoying, when
you move theres random sound playing whether its alert sound,
explosion sounds, codec call sounds, people gasping... wonder whats
wrong...

i ran the game. everything is ok except for the sound; there is one
garbled noise for the codec, alerts, doors, etc. i tried to see if i
could ad the shader and other graphics. the game runs when it want to.
ill start it multiple times and will get the error mgs2.exe has
stopped working, and if im lucky it will work. any suggestions?

gpu intel gma 950(alpha 1 mod)
ram 1 gb
os vista home premium 32bit
type laptop

yeah it eventually crashes...

disbale the buffer it decreased the crash rate....

dont set options too high cause they wont render, and dont set them
too low cause either wont render.

i run it under WIN7+2GB ram... which is a different condition, more
favorable for the game, in your case must be harder and the crash rate
should be higher and lower FPS

also in my case after 30mins the performance started to decrease...
dramatically, and suddenly became unplayable, i had to save and
restart... and it became stupid so i decided to quit it.... but ITS
ONE AMAZING GAME... totally worth it.

i dont get the slow down.the game runs at full speed. i even have the
rendering in options set to a higher level than the guide in twitpix.
