Meghalaya has 2 species (according to Checklist of Flora of Meghalaya, 2016), viz. Mahonia pycnophylla and M. simonsii.
The leaves of M. simonsii are morphologically different from M. pycnophylla.
If we consider only two species to be present, the present collection would be M. pycnophylla.
