Nice pictures Vinod.
Dont the flowers smell divine? The tree has this incredible halo of white and incredible perfume.
If the flowers-including the cover, are left to dry, they turn woody and still retain the perfume of the flower. Apparently some people put them in sachets and keep in between clothes so that they are lightly perfumed.

Very nice photographs.  Common name is Dinner plate tree, as the leaves are very big like   dinner plates.   The leaves are often upto  one to one and a half ft (dia).   I have photographed the tree with very big leaves in Adyar area, in Chennai..

The dry flower is also ground and mixed with sherbets. Apparently it has a cooling effect in the summer.
