Tree for Id from Kullu- NS 2012

Dear All,

This medium-sized tree with edible fruits was shot from Kullu last year...is this Diospyros virginiana..the fruit size was approx. 5-7 cm across with persistent calyx, turning dark brown on maturity..leaves undulate..flowering was over..please help to id..

For the above link this should be Diospyros virginiana L., reported in cultivation in hilly areas of Himachal and Uttarakhand. Similar fruits to D. lotus but as per Dr. Nidhan fruit size varies between 5-7 cm and in D. lotus fruit size like a blue berry upto 2.5(-3.0) cm.
