Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Hook. f. & Thomson ??? (Hooghly)

The search for the taxon Tinospora gives so many confusing data that i give up trying to ID the attached plant pics. If i could find some red or scarlet colored fruits!

• One Bengali book on some common vines in West Bengal mentions two Tinospora species, T. sinensis (Lour.) So, what wold be the true ID of this species?

Species : Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Hook. f. & Thomson ???

Habit & Habitat : wild vine, found beside a railway platform

Date : 7/7/12, 9.05 A.M.

Place : Kamarkundu (Hooghly)

Two species of Tinospora are found in maharashtra, one with Cordate and glabrous leaf and the other one with hairy and bigger leaf.. not cordate.

 

 

Leaf cordate, glabrous = Tinospora cordifolia = Tinospora glabra

 

Leaf not cordate, hairy = Tinospora sinensis = Tinospora malabarica

Sir,

I think finally i have found fruits of Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Hook. f. & Thomson. Today i found it at a different place, it was hanging from an overhead power supply line, intertwined with other climbers like Dioscorea pentaphylla L.
