Hi, Tabish ji,
Pravin ji's image at Bistorta milletii in FOI, may be of Bistorta macrophylla, as per images and details herein.
Pl. remove this to avoid any confusion.

    Yes, since leaves are not visible in Pravin's image of Bistorta milletii on FOI, it should be removed to avoid confusion. However, according to new research (see attached paper of 1999), there is no Bistorta milletii in either Nepal or Uttarakhand. The plants earlier considered as Bistorta milletii in Nepal are Bistorta milletioides or Bistorta confusa.The plants in Uttarakhand, which resemble Bistorta milletii, should be Bistorta rubra Yonek. & H.Ohashi. So, I conclude that the plant on FOI, under discussion here, is Bisitorta ruba.
