The first one is Thespesea populnea or bhendi and the
second one is Melastoma malabathricum.

The first two photographs look like Hibiscus tileaceus. Anyhow, please flash a clear photograph of the leaves to confirm the identity. The flowers of H.tileaceus and Thespesia look alike. But they differ in leaf shape. Both the trees are very common in Chennai.
