On 03-05-08 Pravin Kawale posted photos of Salvadora persica. Here is a photo of the same species in its dry habitat but bordering the marshland in Uran (across the harbour from Mumbai city). As Sunjoy Monga says it is relished by birds such as swarms of Rosy Pastors. We observed white, pink and bright red fruits, the latter very, very tempting to eat. But I wasn’t sure so left it for the resident birds!
