For identification, learning, discussion & documentation of Indian Flora, please visit/ join our Efloraofindia Google e-group (largest in the world- around 2800 members & 2,65,000 messages on 31.3.17) or Efloraofindia website (with a species database of more than 12,000 species & 2,50,000 images).
The whole world uses my Image Resource of more than a thousand species & eight thousand images of Birds, Butterflies, Plants etc. (arranged alphabetically & place-wise). You can also use them for free as per Creative Commons license attached with each image.
How does it differ from Hoppea dichotoma. The plant in the photograph posted by Santhanm ji is seen around Chennai also and earlier (many years back) was identified as H.dichotoma, ofcourse not by me. Hence the question.
Forwarding again for Id confirmation or otherwise please.

Looks much different from images at Hoppea dichotoma Willd. Appears close to images at Hoppea fastigiata (Griseb.) C.B.Clarke (but I am totally unsure). I am doubtful in view of details & illustration at |
