Asteraceae Week (Part III - Ligulate heads)
aster, daisy, or sunflower family
Sonchus ¿ asper / oleraceus ?
Place, Altitude: Manali (about 1940 m asl)
Date, Time: 02 JUN 08, 07:59 am
Habitat: wild, in untended garden area of resort
Habit: herb, standing erect about 40 - 60 cm, cannot recollect size of flower-head.

Due to lack of view of basal leaves, ID to species level of this plant has become difficult.
