Hi Friends,

I found this Leea with adventitious roots growing towards ground......some has leaves growing at the end tip of the roots and some of them had gone in the soil & had taken roots.........I would  like to know is it the usual habit of these Leea plants to grow lateral roots from organs other than main root system,  as I have not noticed earlier?

Is this Leea asiatica? The pictures are taken yesterday in SGNP, Mumbai.

Regards,

Renee

I think it should be Leea indica (Burm. f.) Merr. as per the keys and images herein.

For the link above correct plant ID should be Leea asiatica (L.) Ridsdale
Leaflets with 5-7 basal veins, 3-in Leea indica.

Kind regards,
Varun
